it was amazing
bookshelves: 2012-book-challenge-160-books, nonfiction

Well, I wrote a beautiful review, thoughtful...reflective. And goodreads was down. Thought I copied and saved, but alas...

I love this, even tho medical, scientific research is not my go-to reading. Skloot has woven a powerful narrative of Henrietta, her children, and the doctors and scientists who learned from and profited from Henrietta's immortal cells.

Medical ethics, human kindness, the sad ironies that are part of life and death are all here.

And always Henrietta -- a woman who left her children too soon, who deserved more time. Even if she IS immortal.

Beautiful, moving book.
