About a 3.75, rounded up.
I mostly enjoyed this tale of a female aviator, split with a Hollywood child-actor who is obsessed with her story and then gets a chance to play her in a feature film. The latter tale wasn't as engaging for me, and I found Hadley a bit annoying at times.
The book is a bit long in the tooth, which I understand it's a life retold, but the first bit about her parents and such could have been given to us in bits later, instead of the info-dump (as well as trauma dump) in the first hundred or so pages. That bit could have been trimmed, I felt.
It was also an interesting glimpse, albeit fictional (but of course, still based in history) of a theatre of the Second World War that doesn't get talked about as much. Not just Marion's story, but her twin brother, Jamie's, as well.
