it was ok

I wanted to like this book a lot more than I ended up liking it. The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Klay[/b:] remains one of the best novels I've read in the last ten years, but this book simply lacked the depth of characterization found in Chabon's masterpieces. There was certainly more than enough action, but I found myself not really caring about any of the three main characters--and thus not really caring what happened in any of the battles. Great premise, but the execution was sadly lacking.
