Walter Dean Myers, who is the author of Shooter, uses interviews to lead up to the climax of the story. Cameron Porter is just an average kid who isn't very outgoing and doesn't have many friends until he meets Leonard Gray and Carla Evans. Brad Williams, who is the school bully pushes Leonard too far one day and this leads up to what Cameron refers to as "the incident". While reading this book, I almost lost all interest in reading it because of all the interviews with Cameron and Carla. Besides all the interviews, I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a suspenseful book.
