really liked it

I was going to give this book five stars, but I've reviewed my list over the last year and I feel that I've given too many five-star ratings. Somewhere along the line I turned into Peter Travers of "Rolling Stone," who thinks every movie is the Best! Movie! Of The Year! Sorry Mr. O'Nan, you're the first victim of my new austerity program. Anyway, this book was just wonderful. Don't expect a typical Teenager Goes Missing thriller, with dramatic twists and shocking revelations -- it's all about the grinding, day-to-day pressures on the family and friends left behind But it also has humor and heart, and few authors depict small-town life so vividly.
