it was amazing
bookshelves: sociology, history, yum, read2009

Wow, this is so much more than an indictment of the fast food industry. Schlosser balances a healthy fascination with the all-American success story of fast food with a take-no-prisoners look at the military-industrial-childexploitation complex that surrounds it. A font of knowledge about Disney, the interstate highway system (!), OSHA legislation, the perfume chemistry industry, you name it. Meticulous, ground-breaking research and personal interviews that reveal the vast human suffering.

Inder Oooh, I really enjoyed this book. I didn't expect it to be a page-turner, but it really is. It made me very glad to be a vegetarian, though.
