Basic Christianity

I recently finished reading
Know What You Believe: Connecting Faith and Truth and decided to continue my explorations on the basics of the Christian faith. This little book has been in my collection for some time, but I've never gotten around to actually reading it. Having just finished it, I can say that this is one of the best books on basic Christianity (no pun intended) I've ever come across. Whereas Know What You Believe: Connecting Faith and Truth is more systematic in it's approach to Christianity, Mr. Stott is far more condensed and passionate. This book is not just geared to the new believer, but also to the seriously interested and to the wavering souls who need that little push into the arms of Christ. There is also plenty of food for thought for those who already are believers as Mr. Stott puts equal emphasis on the believer's role in the church and the world and for the believer to make that actual leap of faith, that full-throated and full-hearted commitment to Christ and acknowldgement of him as their personal savior. Whether you are new to the faith or are still on the fences, this is a must-read along with your Bible.
