Terry is a new author to me, and I look forward to meeting him at the L.A. Times Festival of Books in April. Photo Finish is a great book, with an unusual protagonist and a humorous undertone that keeps you smiling even when the going gets touch. Hawaiian settings are interesting although not particularly necessary to the story. Wilson McKenna is a "mature" guy who refuses to let that maturity slow him down...too much. Don't know who Terry really had in mind, but I kept seeing the handsomely aging/still sexy Paul Newman in the role. Lots of twists, turns and surprises, thoughtfully plotted and paced. No gratuitous blood and guts, thankfully. Looking forward to License to Lie, Terry's new release!
