really liked it
bookshelves: fiction

I enjoyed this more than the first Nursery Crime book -- Fforde brings back a little of the meta-humor of the Thursday Next series here. It also packs more whimsy per page, not all of it nursery rhyme-related -- silly names, characters from elsewhere in literature, aliens, a World War I theme park. Amid the whimsy, Jack and Mary are surprisingly realistic and endearing protagonists.
