liked it

I liked this book, but I can't say I loved it. I would give it 3.5 stars.

First off, here's what I liked:
The Faery world - This was my first faery book and I enjoyed it. I liked the author's interpretation of the faery characters that we know from other sources and I enjoyed the faery world.
Meghan Chase - I liked the main character of the book. I thought that she was real - she had good and not so good qualities, neither of which were overwhelming.

What I didn't like as much:
Ash - As a love interest, I found Ash to be a little confusing. He was so hot and cold with Meghan, and I often didn't feel like there was any transition between the two. I found myself thinking, "Wait, he's being nice to her again? Did I miss something?" I know that this was supposed to be part of the character (the fact that his feelings for Meghan were warring with his natural coldness), but I didn't really see that war - it just seemed random to me.
The high school scenes - They just seemed a bit forced to me and made Meghan look not particularly bright.

Still, overall, I liked the book and I will read the next one.

UPDATE: I ended up really loving this series, so I'm glad I kept reading!!
