really liked it
bookshelves: memoir, non-fiction, history

The writing is a little disjointed -- flipping somewhat erratically between the narrative about the Jews hiding in the Warsaw Zoo and the goings on in Poland on the whole -- but this is the most enthralling book I've ever read about World War II. I thought Ordinary Men would haunt me forever, but that was before I read this.
