I can see why this book is so popular. It makes for a very compelling read. I think it answers a lot of questions and clears up many misconceptions people have about God and suffering.

I found some of the passages difficult to read, laboured, but I am not sure if it was the way they were written, or if it was just because I was tired when I was reading them.

It was very easy to picture the location and characters from the rich descriptions provided. The imagery was so striking, it was like watching someone paint a scene in my head.

This may get a reputation as being a "Christian" novel, but there is so much more to it than that.
