Recommended for: HOA takers, Spanish takers, women, men, everyone

Ingeniously intertwined story, epic in all respects, covering three plus generations, filled to the brim with rich characters, immense heart, and fantastic imagination. Perfectly blends latin melodrama romance with matriarchal power, the corruption of power and the male species, the suppression of women, the power of love, the power of an opinion, politics, history, social commentary, dictatorship, the effects of time, the power of family, and the almost supernatural feeling that can exist between members of a family. The first half is a great character study of many great characters, fleshed out to the fullest, creating a strong compassion that is top-notch. comments on the collective spirit of man both politically and within a family, and how women through the generations have learned to cope with male superiority. These mind and emotion moving themes permeate the truly interesting story. Also reveals the power of redemption and the gaining of grace with oneself. A modern masterpiece.

Tortla Did you ACTUALLY read this book? Because it seems like you just looked up the most pretentiously over-enthused review of it you could find and posted it as your own. ..."fleshed out to the fullest"..."male species"..."modern masterpiece"...really? Why don't you just track down Isabel Allende and make out with her?

Happy Wednesday.

Michael you're just jealous you didn't put as much time into your review. in fact you put no time it at all so that it would be as least helpful as possible to the world.

Picklevictory dude, what in the frijoles is wrong with your last sentence...it doesn't make sense, cuz you used funky grammar and left out a word or two. It's great that you spent sooooooo much time into your review, but that still doesn't mean i have to like it or think it's amaaaazing. But since you criticize my unhelpfulness, i will now contribute and help the world by taking the time to do this:
