** spoiler alert ** A few too many anecdotes, and this guy always has a major chip on his shoulder. He has about a hundred instances of him breaking the rules and being right (see: Jack Bauer). The locales he visits are very obscure and very interesting, and I am glad he's on our side. Still, his decision to bail on the agency instead of trying to make it any better kind of sucks, and contradicts his self image as a maverick who will do whatever it takes to protect his country, no matter how many toes he steps on. Interesting, but not essential reading.
