Pre-reading note: Preparation for my upcoming trip to Jordan. I realize a book about war seems like a strange preparation, but it was recommended in every travel guide. Plus, I'll be spending a few nights in Wadi Rum, so I guess it's fitting. Plus, it won't be the only book I read before the trip (recommendations are very welcome).

Oh, I'm so excited!

Post-rading note:
Well, I really hope that my trip to Jordan will be more exciting than this book. I'm not saying it wasn't good, but a little less detail would have been appreciated. In other words, it was really really long. Of course I was really just looking for the parts that took place in Jordan, so may I'd feel differently if I had read the book because I wanted to read, you know, the whole book.
(ok, no matter what excuses I find, there's no hiding that I didn't like this book as much as I would have liked to like it)

But...going to Jordan!
SO EXCITED!
