This book is perhaps one of the most charming books I have ever read. People think differently when they are children (a fact I think many people tend to forget) and Ray Bradbury captures not only the events and feelings of summer in the midwest, but the thought processes of childhood. This book is one of the best ways to kick off the summer and really remember what it is like to sit on the porch and be lulled to sleep by the adult's talk, catch fireflies, and frighten yourself in the dark gorge separating your house from your friends. I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! It is one to read by yourself, out loud to kids, or recommend to anyone (you all know that person who doesn't like any of your suggestions- give this one a try).
