This is not typically the type of book that I would read. Yet, I felt myself drawn into the story of this Irish family and their daily struggles. When you read stories about real life, there is the heartache- which always makes me hesitate. My own life and the lives of those around me contain enough heartache and struggle where I feel like I don't need to read further about it. However, this book also contains a profound story of hope that continues to persevere through desperate circumstances. The triumph of the human spirit is "so sweet" when it is pitted against desperation- situations where some would despair and lose their dreams altogether- and yet he overcomes.
