Newell That's so SAD!! Was it to do with cats being associated with witchcraft? Honestly, Anna, you read the most interesting books I can even imagine. What is your latest project on, my dear?

Anna Well, in general terms, yes -- cats were easy props for the people in question, who were apprentices killing cats to make fun of / harass the people they worked for. This was definitely the days before the RSPCA.

This was reading for my intellectual history class; don't know what I'll be writing my seminar paper on yet, but hopefully something related to my (tentative) thesis on the OE!
