it was amazing

The third (and final?) installment of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid was everything I hoped it would be. I started reading these books because I wanted to see what all of the hype was about with the kids and by the time this one came out I was (perhaps) more excited than the children. I really enjoy how well Kinney is able to balance the adult humor and the kid humor. There are aspects of this book that I found laugh out loud hilarious, specifically the part about Shel Silverstein that most of the kids that come in the library did not find funny. However they seem to relate to other parts like Manny's blanket (not funny in my opinion.)
I always appreciate an author who is able to drum up enthusiasm for reading and that is what I have seen Kinney do. So far his jokes haven't become gimmicks and it is still very honest and hilarious.
