Decent read, well-written, but not exactly true to its title. While it does touch on clubs around the world and the football culture in various countries, globalization seems to be only an afterthought to Foer, almost just a tag-line to sell more copies. One comes away with the impression that the book is more a travelogue than any high-minded "theory of globalization," unlikely or otherwise. Still quite interesting, especially for those who follow the European leagues. Why on earth the title contains the word soccer rather than football is beyond me.
