really liked it
bookshelves: occult-esque

The more stories I read centering on the deliberate awfulness of human beings, the fewer of them I want to read, and the less I enjoy them. Banks does paint an interesting portrait of psychopathic behavior, with ritualism thrown in. Also, I didn't expect the ending, but I'm not the sort of person who tries to predict the endings of things. It's more fun to just let them come.
