really liked it

Very readable with some beautiful prose. It is an Interesting history of the Warsaw Zookeepers' experiences during WW2. I had read that Warsaw's non-jews were rather unsympathetic of the Jews' plight and the ghetto there, but this story belies that. I hadn't been aware that Hitler was also involved in pure breeding the animal kingdom, trying to recover ancient blood lines.
