2.5 stars = pretty good. I liked the initial parts of the story and the leading lady in her thief persona, but once the hero "catches" her and we discover her back story she no longer comes across as sassy and confident - we find out that she is really a damsel in distress and that was no where near as fun. The other thing that didn't completely work for me - and I admit that I haven't read a full length book in the series so it might have been handled better than the short space here allows - is that the heroe's Nightwalker race feels very vampirelike even with the small twist that separates them from the other 'true' vampires in the story. Nightwalkers have all of the significant vampire traits: blood drinking, no sun, dead during the day... But then again I am not a huge vampire fan so take that for what it is worth.

Rhianna You definitely need to read NIGHT WALKER first. NIGHT THIEF (due to novella length) doesn't really explain it as it was done in the first book.

I think you would like it better by far. I think the series in general can work for the not-into-vampires paranormal romance reader the novella just couldn't cover it properly.
