it was amazing
bookshelves: steampunk

Seriously, is there anything cooler than Japanese steampunk?

I thoroughly enjoyed Stormdancer (apart from those chapters where I fretted ridiculously for the characters). Kristoff delivers great writing and multi-layered characters, not to mention some of the most original and intricate world building I've ever read - with themes that resonates on many levels.

This book is action-packed, atmospheric, witty, heart-breaking, tension-filled...all the good stuff. And, of course, the Yukiko/Buruu relationship is just brilliant.

All the buzz is well earned. And Kristoff is Australian - which makes it even cooler.
