Book 1 of Maggie Blackbird's MAIZEMERIZED series takes us back to a time before the wilderness of North America was completely changed by Europeans. Edie's story as Fire Woman, a twenty-first century woman transported back in time to her eighteenth century ancestors, is true to history while still spinning a lovely tale of the love Edie/Fire Woman feels for one special man, Thuderbear.
I'm not saying anything else - SPOILERS! - but I will say it was one heck of a good read, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves historical and time travel romances.
