really liked it
bookshelves: fantasy-and-adventure, comics-graphic-novels

This massive illustrated work is unbelievable. With all the "chapters" together, the Bone epic spans over a thousand pages and the story evolves and matures considerably over that span. It is full of delightful art and very fun characters, and the story is at turns exciting, sad, funny, and dark. This is quite an accomplishment and it holds together surprisingly well for having been written over such a long period of time. It was angled at kids, so there were times that I wished it would have taken a darker or edgier turn, but as such it is still fantastic.
