This book calls for a revolution - a revolution of what we Christians think about thinking. The author gives a persuasive argument on how important the role of the mind is in the life of faith. He also gives some practical guidelines on how to develop ones thinking faculty.
Tragically, in many parts of the church today we have all but ignored our minds when it comes to loving God and practicing our faith. Instead we have majored on loving Him with our emotions and behaviors and while these are important parts of our Christian life and worship, for many, their minds are not being adequately engaged as God would desire and as Jesus Himself demonstrated.
Consequently, a fair amount of believers are ill-equipped to defend the faith they say they would die for; they are unprepared to witness in a hostile culture that is full of caustic and skeptical questions and sometimes irrational and ludicrous accusations.
If we are to turn the tide on this trend and rise to the challenge of being able to defend our faith then we need to read and implement the advice in books like this one. Mr. Moreland covers a variety of issues in the book which gives one a quality foretaste of this subject matter as well as a practical strategic approach to being able to stand up and argue for Christ and the gospel which saves us.
There are four basic sections in this book -
Part I - Why the Mind Matters in Christianity
Part II - How to Develop a Mature Christian Mind
Part III - What a Mature Christian Mind Looks Like
Part IV. - Guaranteeing a Future for the Christian Mind
I think if more Christians made the effort to begin to read and study in these areas, they'd come to realize just how hungry and malnourished they've been in matters of the Christian mind.
Great book!

“While the Christian faith clearly teaches that believers are to be involved as good citizens in the state, nevertheless, it is obvious why so many secularists are addicted to politics because political power is a surrogate for a Higher Power.”
