it was amazing

You come to VE Schwab for bold colours on a big canvass, black-eyed emo boys and knife-wielding dangerous girls, and a rollercoaster of a storyline. And that’s exactly what you get with This Savage Song.

Schwab’s writing style is so vivid and visual I picture her books as ideally suited to being adapted for anime. I cannot see why the big streaming services haven’t snapped up the rights - mostly because I’d watch it in a heartbeat.

The book neatly sets up the sequel Our Dark Duet, which has been bumped up to next on my TBR pile.
