it was ok

This book was 9 CDs long, and it seemed to take a really long time to get through. Michael Palin traveled through the Himalayas to film stuff for the BBC. He wrote this travelogue, too. I think the trip was somewhere around 4 months, and I think he narrated something for almost every day of the journey. The beginning of the trip really didn't grab my attention for some reason. He started in Pakistan, and I guess I just don't have any real connection to Pakistan. I didn't think we'd make end of the story. However, it became a little more interesting when he went into India, and some of the other countries along the way. He hiked up some mountains, talked to the Dalai Lama and some other people, and saw some elephants. There were other descriptions throughout which made me chuckle, but really the trip was a bit uneventful, and I found myself zoning out quite a bit, and had to force myself to pay attention. Nothing terribly exciting happened... I mean, someone got kidnapped and then reappeared, but it just kinda happened and there was nothing to get worked up about. We made it to the end, but I definitely found myself spacing out a lot along the way, as it was less than riveting.

Rebekah I listened to one of Michael Palin's travel books on books-on-tape, as read by him, and it was super good. He has a neat post-Pythons career.
