Mr. Bowerbank’s warning “There will also be puns but by now you’ve groan to expect them” short-changes his masterful banter and storytelling. “The Witness Who Wasn’t There”, the third book in the whodunit trilogy with Mary and Malcolm, is another hit by Bowerbank.
Reading the story is like watching a TV show, with quick cuts, a time clock and a cast of characters who all could’ve “dunit”. Bowerbank artfully drops clues and pieces of hints that permit the reader to play detective.
In addition, Bowerbank has a Master’s Degree in Sarcasm with a Bachelor’s in Wit and a minor in punning. His humor provides a smile between the clues.
“The Witness Who Wasn’t There” is a fantastic end to the trilogy. And the bow with which Bowerbank ties the series together can be easily undone for future projects. It’s a quick and entertaining read. Highly recommended!
