it was ok

A mediocre cozy at best. Formulaic beyond formulaic. Non-offensive beige main character with questionable self-preservation tactics. The only thing relatable is the salty cat. As an owner of a completely indifferent, perpetually annoyed cat, I feel seen! For that which, I’m giving this snoozefest two stars! For reals though...if you are an extremely short, petite woman, would you run a booze joint in the sticks all by yourself with only a useless napping old geezer of a grandpa “standing guard” out on the porch? Also, she had to wait until a murder happens to think about surveillance cameras for her business? I don’t get it. Also the feisty, cranky grandparent trope is almost as annoying as whining children. So not cute. Anyhoo, this series is getting a hard pass from me, dog.
