Thomas ward is a 12 year old farm-boy that comes of age to become an apprentice. Being the youngest of all his siblings, thomas ward can't take over the farm so he must find another profession. He gets apprenticed to the most hated/feared face in the whole county. Nobody likes the spook because it is the spooks job to deal with paranormal problems such as witches and ghosts. thomas ward is prefect for the job because he is the seventh son of a seventh son, therefore, granting him the ability to fight such dark forces. In the first year of his apprenticeship, thomas accidently frees a very dangerous, baby devouring witch. He must figure out how to deal with her the right way while his master is out of town. duh duh duh!!
I thought this book was told really well and had a good story. It shows that people can find courage deep and overcome obstacles that seem impossible. If your not the best reader, then you should still read this because it's very interesting and a super, super easy read. I would recommend this book for anybody, but more specifically i would recommend it for people that love paranormal fiction. 4
