it was ok

** spoiler alert ** I really like Jacob, aside from his attraction to Bella, and the werewolves. The werewolf transformation is done more logically than most--clothes and shoes are destroyed if they don't take them off. There were some good Charlie moments, too.
But I didn't enjoy the main dual plots of Bella's reckless behaviour (it's suicidal, no matter what she claims) and Edward's suicidal mission.
Carlisle and Rosalie have such interesting backstories; I wish they were 'on stage' more.

julia Sadly, this is probably my favorite book, but only because of Jacob and the werewolves. I really like them. I get rather upset with Bella that she chooses a lifeless existance with Edward over a life-affirming existance with Jacob. He was so much better for her, even though he did encourage her in her crazy behavior.

Nicole So then why did you give Twilight 4 stars and New Moon 3? I now totally understand why you told me before that you like Jacob. :) One good thing about Jacob accompanying Bella in her extreme sports--we knew he'd never let anything really terrible happen to her; he'd always get her help if she got hurt. ...We can discuss this further later...

julia Did I do that? I may have to re-read Twilight to see why. I do know that while I liked Jacob in Twilight, I just adored him in this one. He comes out great in the third book too.

Looking forward to the discussion! although I may have to re-read it before we do...
