it was amazing
Read in January, 2012

One of my favorite stories of ALL TIME! Own the book and Loved it! Own the movie and Loved it! This is one of those stories that just guts you open. Rips your heart out of your chest and squeezes it gently ever just so. You know the gentle squeeze. The one that makes you silently. gasp. Yes, like that. Just enough to bring you to your senses where you can glimpse with clarity which things are the ones worth living for. Fighting for. Dying for. Marvelous storytelling and a moving story about the graciousness of human kindness at it's best, the strength to reach for courage, the zeal to fight for your dreams, and the love of friends and strangers that become the family by choice that was not afforded the poor main character Novalee Nation by blood.

Novalee Nation finds herself pregnant, stranded and abandoned by her no good boyfriend and father of her unborn child, on the side of the road. In a strange town in the middle of nowhere in a town in the state of Oklahoma without money or resources. She comes to find that in spite of seeing this moment as the lowest in her life it becomes in fact the turning point for the best moments of her life. With the help, love, support and generosity of this town she and her baby find a true home. For anyone wanting to laugh and cry and marvel and sigh over a beautiful story, unbelievably realistic characters, wonderfully poignant sentiments, and eloquently written words, just pick this book up and dream quietly inside its pages.
