Lil's Bus Trip

Yay! A new book by Judy Leigh! And if you are a fan of the author as I am, you won’t be surprised to learn that, “Lil’s Bus Trip” is the perfect comfort read! Definitely a porch read, with your favorite beverage and…Belgian chocolates?
The book blurb tells you all about it, but again, you will be happy to know that this book contains all the good feels. There are a mini-bus load of characters, but the author presents them so vividly, that you will remember each one. You will love 82-year old Lil , who is at the heart of it- funny, caring, perky, and she doesn’t let past sadness get her down. Her daughter Cassie is just like her, a warm and talented lady. Both mother and daughter are so close and caring- they share plenty of happiness, and hope. Lil’s friend Maggie can use some of Lil’s spunk.
The rest of the gang will entertain you as well- the young, middle-aged and a few more golden-agers. They each have their hopes and dreams, too. A few shenanigans, many funny moments, and times of thoughtful reflection round out this rollicking story. These characters aren’t as quirky as the some of the ones in Ms. Leigh’s previous books, and I liked them better. As the bus jostles through France, Belgium and Holland, you will be so happy you are part of the trip, enjoying the food and sights!
Thanks to Net Galley and Boldwood Books for an advance digital review copy. This is my honest review.
