I give Redemption a 3 star rating for the attempt at writing based on an interesting plot line.
So Redemption is basically about Lily, last existing vampire, working for a mysterious Manchester organisation(till date im clueless as to what this is and why it is and why its employers and employees(demons angels and the likes) dont know what the bloomin hell goes on on earth and whos really who)
Shes a gorgeous recluse, animal eater staying away from romantic relationships in all her hundreds of years but for one human Ian. But the minute he offers commitment she outta there before u say whatz up!
Ian cant let go so after two months of seahing for any kind of clue as to her whereabouts he manages to contact Rebecca the only human (later she finds out shes half angel) who knows Lilys secret and is willing to help Ian find her because she thinks he is the one for Lily.
This is where it gets bizarre. This friendship(if you call drinking and chatting for a few hours that)blooms quite quickly into love and half way down the book you see them confessing this undying passionate love to each other when they are held hosatge half naked on a bed with a sheet with no bathroom by a demon who thinks thats the best way to prevent them from escape(say what!)This demon wants to barter with Lily for i dont know what and i dont know why?
Im thinking....theres a lot of attraction bouncing off of walls for no rhyme or reason. It seems the outcomes were all planned and then the lines just filled in.
Too many people are introduced into this jumble berry crumble except i love Jumble berry crumble and this I DO NOT. No proper background character sketch on any, some of whom are simply not necessary. Dialogue is very bland, very predictable, theres zero ust or any kind of tension if you ask me.
Even Ryan (who is Lilys husband when she was human and their honeymoon was tragically cut short by an accident) who Lily claims was her unforgettable love of a life enters in a such a strange manner. Lily didnt even recognise him the first time she seems him after hundreds of years even after she claims his memory never faded and never allowed her to love completely again.
Im going to cut this here, i feel ive said enough. the rest of the plot bunnies are of really no consequence. SO Ill say THIS. "I wont be visiting part two forget REVISITED."
ive finished. i need time to phrase politely without being to harsh.
