The story starts several years later, but pretty much starts where we left off. Each individual storyline is good, but there are plenty in this dense book. The problem is that the stories rarely intersect, in either plot or thematic way. It might have been better if we followed each one at a time, rather than jumbled together. If you're a fan of Dune, you'll still like this book. Even if you're not, it's still a good, although flawed, read.
