it was amazing

** spoiler alert ** this was teh best book i have read in a while. there were 2 women, best friends, one with boy and one with 2 girls, 12 and almost 5. they were married and moved next to each other on a island by wa state. the one husband was a mechanic and the other was a lawyer, his dad was a lawyer too. the lawyers dad died, and he couldnt seem to get over it and told his wife he didnt love her anymore, the older daughter heard him say it

the 2 women were on the national guard, they got deployed to be pilots in iraq and so the dad was left to raise the kids for a year while seh was gone. she told them it wasnt dangerous so they wouldnt worry. the dads mom was going to come and help, she owned a nursery nearby. they are greek

then the helicopter went down, the woman with the son had brain injury and eventually died. the other woman had to have her leg amuputated and one arm was messed up but that healed later.

the dad had written her a email that she never got saying he was sorry he told her he didnt love her cause he did.

she had a hard time adjusting when she got back and had ptsd. meanwhile the dad was defending a man that killed his wife, but he didnt remember, he just got back from the war and had ptsd too. he was found guilty but not the premeditated kind.

this book was so good, i really cried. i would have liked to see it go further but i really really liked it. i read it all in one day, i stayed up to finish it and i was crying really hard.
