Another good book. The main character is a priestess who is banished from Avalon; becomes wife of a Roman Officer; and whose son becomes the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great. The priestess is Eilan/Helena and book works through the phases of her life as Christianity asserts itself and replaces other older religions.

I got side-tracked by about a third of the way through the book and uncharacteristically set it aside without closure. When I returned to reading Priestess of Avalon it was an 'oh my goodness' kind of experience in that I couldn't understand how I had ever set the book aside.
