really liked it
bookshelves: bookclub, bipoc-author, fiction

I enjoyed the noir aspects of this, and the slow burn of the plot. The characters sometimes felt like archetypes, but it worked for me. That said, I was often irritated by Maite’s internal monologue and constant self-doubt, though it makes sense for her character.

The feeling that this was someone who devoured people, but never got his suit dirty.
