This was one of the many books I've read with my child (currently 7), and he LOVED it. Obviously, having been written in 1919, and set in Spanish California, some of the language had to be explained. (Wooing was one word that really stumped him :-D) However, the overall exciting story, the mystery to the characters in the book about who Senor Zorro actually was, although we guessed very early on; the fights, the chases, the romance and the teasing was lots of fun and made both of us laugh and cheer.
All in all, a fun read if you don't take it too seriously.
