It's rare to read a book with such a precisely defined scope as this book's: 101 brief meetings between historical figures, each told in 1001 words exactly. With such a premise comes both promise and limitations: 1001 words can (and sometimes does) feel very very short; 1001 words can (and sometimes does) feel ever so slightly too long. Now let's add a interesting twist into the mix: the second person mentioned in each meeting will also figure in the next meeting AND the first person mentioned in the book will be the final person mentioned in the book (Hitler, in case you were curious). Again, with such a premise comes both promise and limitations. There are fascinating encounters and less interesting ones. I'd say the book is worth a library checkout for sure, but wouldn't rush out to buy it if I hadn't won a copy from GoodReads.
