I didn't really like the main character. She felt like the leftovers after Kinsella created Becky of the Shopaholic series and the "Can You Keep a Secret?" storyline. I do like that the main character, a well-employed brainiac who is framed for a corporate scandal and runs to the country to hide, learns a new way of living and must make a choice between hiding in the corporate world or making a name for herself in the more domestic arts of gardening and keeping house. The book is ultimately redemptive, but getting there is a little tedious.
