liked it

Reading a modern Oedipus Rex story certainly isn't filled with suspense so I was hoping for great characters, snappy dialogue, a little humor ... something to capture my imagination. Never really happened. The main characters were pretty well developed but I couldn't relate to them, hence I didn't care too much about them. In place of lots of dialogue there were long passages of math-related theory (not as bad as it sounds!). And tho the book summary calls it "darkly humorous," I can't recall anything that struck me that way. I did, however, enjoy several of the reflective passages regarding artificial intelligence and the purpose of life.
