This book is begging to be made into a Tim Burton movie. Just begging. I swear I could smell caramel the whole time I read it and it made me want to take up the eccentric habit of hosting extravagant midnight dinner parties. I loved all the imagery. It was totally mesmerizing and magical and I want to go to the night Circus more than anything, if only it were real. I loved the style of small little vignettes here and there describing the reader in the circus. I didn't even realize till after I finished it that the characters were sort of flat and the story wasn't very dramatic or compelling in any way. It had the potential for something more, but still I don't think I'd change it. The descriptions and the imagery of the circus were really center stage for me and I liked it that way. I still rushed through it like a mystery novel just wanting more. Like gorging on candy, I couldn't get enough despite its lack of substance in areas.
