The idea of Stoicism forms a cornerstone of my life philosophy, even if I don't always follow its precepts! It's all about self-control and becoming disinterested, unattached from worry and preoccupation. Essentially, the idea is to maintain an even keel. Hard to do, but Aurelius really lays out a great blueprint.
