really liked it
bookshelves: fiction, mystery
Read from August 28 to September 10, 2012

A clever mystery and a fun read. My only gripe derives from the age it was written...the characters' adherence to Victorian social graces even in the face of immanent danger was jarring to me. I kept saying to them, "Who cares about propriety?! People are dying!" But, that is a matter of my own modern proclivities, and not to any flaw in the writing. In all, a recommended book.
