really liked it

8/17: Like I need to add something else to the stack right now. *sigh* What I wouldn't give for a good flesh-eating virus to sequester and lay me up for a few weeks...

8/27: Gobbled it up. Swallowed it whole. Enjoyed it so much, so fully engrossed by it, that I find my own opinion of it suspect.

While it probably isn't literature (though it's in exactly the style it should be), it's something rarer and more valuable: a finely-crafted s t o r y. As a writer, Cronin is unsparing yet full of compassion. He knows where he's going, he knows how he's getting there, and he makes it rewarding for the reader along the way.

Jen Padgett Bohle How did you get your hands on this?! I've been looking forward to the continuation of "The Passage" all year and that last month until the October release date is killing me.

Andrew Campbell Lucky me, eh? I work at a newspaper, and I'm interviewing Mr. Cronin next month.
