it was amazing

I loved this book (you know by now I love everything Nadine Gordimer writes!)
She draws the protagonist Rosa Burger so fully as a person and as the moral center of the book and of apartheid South Africa. And also fully draws several of the black and Afrikaner characters.
Her style is wonderful, mixing external description with interior monologue.
I thought the ending is stunningly written.

Anthony Thanks for recommending Nadine Gordimer. I have 'July's People' unread somewhere in the shelf behind me. I shall gravitate there soon.

Dana Susan Yes, do read Gordimer, you'll like her I am sure.
