This book was a big disappointment. I truly loved When Elves Attack: A Joyous Christmas Greeting from the Criminal Nutbars of the Sunshine State and was delighted to discover that I had accidentally read a book that is in the teens in a series and could go back and read the others. I started thinking that Dorsey might be my new Carl Hiaasen. Then this first book with Serge Storms didn't work out.

This leaves me with a problem. By many (14?) books in, this stuff is akin among the best I've read in the peculiar Florida nutbar subgenre. With the first book, he hadn't figured it out yet. Do I split the difference or plod on with the second book and hope he picks up fast. I think I'll opt for the latter. I don't think I can risk missing a story like Elves Attack. :-)
